Sustainability Certificate
In November 2024 Cantine Dei obtained the prestigious Equalitas certification, a recognition that confirms our concrete commitment to sustainability. Equalitas, an Italian organization founded in 2015, has created a unique and uniform evaluation system for sustainability standards in the wine sector, based on three key pillars: environmental, social, and economic. These criteria, developed by a high-level scientific committee, promote a universal model of responsible management.

Organic farming: the first step towards sustainability
Cantine Dei has always placed environmental protection at the heart of its business philosophy, adopting practices that minimize environmental impact. The first step in this journey was the adoption of organic farming practices in 2018, officially recognized in June 2021 with the attainment of certification. For Cantine Dei, organic agriculture means, above all, greater care for the soil, considered a fundamental resource. The soil is preserved and improved through minimal tillage, spontaneous or artificial cover cropping, green manure, natural fertilizers (manure, humus), mechanical weed control, and the complete exclusion of chemical herbicides. Being organic also means using only natural products, biostimulants, reinforcements, and antagonistic microorganisms — all beneficial for the environment and consumer health.
The three pillars of sustainability
Sustainability certification is the culmination of a journey of constant commitment — a seal confirming our mission and values. In our company, the three pillars of sustainability — environmental – economic – ethical/social — are deeply interconnected and serve as the foundation for ensuring environmental respect and the well-being of the people who work with us.

The future in the hands of environmental suistainability
At Cantine Dei, environmental sustainability is not just a goal or a set of practices — it is a fundamental value that guides every action we take. Respect for animal and plant biodiversity, the surrounding environment, and natural resources is essential to a sustainable future and to enhancing the quality of our wine. In addition to organic agricultural practices that exclude the use of dangerous and synthetic pesticides, we manage water responsibly, use renewable energy, and are committed to recycling and waste reduction. We continuously monitor our environmental impact according to Equalitas standards, assessing soil, water, and air biodiversity, as well as our carbon footprint and water footprint. To meet these goals, we implement good agricultural and winery practices.
Economic Sustainability
For Cantine Dei, economic sustainability means a tangible commitment to a model that creates lasting value — for the company, the local area, and the community. This approach is reflected first and foremost in reducing environmental impact through investment in cutting-edge machinery with higher energy efficiency and lower pollutant emissions. Cantine Dei also adopts transparent and fair economic management, ensuring decent working conditions and fostering trustworthy relationships with suppliers. Equally important is the commitment to fair pay for employees and suppliers, recognizing the value of their contributions. The company prioritizes the use of certified raw materials from the local area, supporting the local economy and ensuring product quality. In this way, Cantine Dei creates a virtuous cycle that combines economic growth, social well-being, and environmental protection.
Ethical and social sustainability – the beating heart
At Cantine Dei people are at the core of everything we do. Each member of our team plays a vital role in the company’s success—from vineyard to bottle, from cellar to sales. We are committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring workplace where everyone feels valued and can grow professionally. We actively promote equal opportunities, ongoing training, and transparent relationships—with our collaborators, partners, and suppliers alike—to build a responsible and sustainable supply chain. At the same time, we invest in our local area and community, because for us, true business success is meaningful only when it goes hand in hand with social responsibility.
